We are committed to promoting a more positive society by using the company’s resources and involving the team in causes close to our heart. From 2004, we are supporting the work of the United World Youth Council (UWYC) to help them generate funding for the charity.
The UWYC is a unique educational programme designed to foster mutual understanding, respect and tolerance between young people aged 16-19 from all over the world. By increasing their confidence and providing them with the tools to face challenges and transform problems into solutions, the programme aims to contribute to global peace. Participants attend a programme of activities at Radley College, Oxfordshire, where they learn first-hand about the socio-economic and political situations of other countries. This experience helps them appreciate difference and change traditional attitudes, through informed dialogue and respect for individual cultural identity.
Our team have also worked with the Orchestra of St John’s Smith Square, London, on an educational music and dance project; and the Cutteslowe Music Dance Circus involving disadvantaged children from Oxford, where the project culminated in a performance by the children at the Sheldonian Theatre. We filmed activities throughout the duration of the project and produced a film which was used to obtain fundraising for further educational projects.
